Over the past decade, Ai Web Solutions Ltd has been partnering with Clean Supply to transform their web application from a simple ordering tool into a comprehensive platform. Initially conceived as a quick ordering app, it was designed to help Clean Supply customers place their weekly orders through a checklist system. Since then, the project has evolved significantly, overcoming numerous challenges and implementing a wide array of features.

The Challenge

Product Photography
One of the earliest challenges was taking pictures of all products, which ranged from huge to very small and transparent items. The lack of advanced tools made this a particularly difficult task years ago.
Customer-Specific Pricing
Each Clean Supply customer had their own prices, necessitating a way to upload and manage various price lists easily. At the time, Clean Supply used Sage accounting software, which didn't support integration. We had to manually export and import prices, mapping fields between Sage and the web application due to differing table names.
Custom Products and Ordering Limits
Some customers had customized products with different variations, and a minimum ordering limit based on the combination of all custom products, rather than individual items.
Admin Dashboard Development
We developed a robust admin dashboard allowing management of users, orders, and various other functions.
Enquiries Section
For items not kept in stock, we implemented an enquiries section where prices would be calculated based on order quantity.
Delivery Calculation
A true delivery calculation feature was developed, fetching prices from the delivery company based on weight or size and calculating the delivery charge as items are added to the basket.
Payment Options:
Different payment options were implemented, depending on whether the users were account customers or not.
